Butter Rich Pan Rolls

Recipe #49722 | 3¼ hours | 3 hours prep | add private note

These are just so yummy and cute too. I make these about once a week and store them in tupperware. They make excellent little sandwich rolls or allow us to always have fresh bread for meals. When I was little in Germany, my mom and her German friend used to make them without the luxury of a bread machine. The smell of fresh baked bread can't be beat!

SERVES 24 , 24 rolls (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Egg glaze

  • 1 large egg, beaten (optional)
  • 4 teaspoons water (optional)

Directions

  1. 1
Prepare as dough in the bread machine.
  2. 2
Remove dough to lightly floured board, divide into quarters, then divide each quarter into 6.
  3. 3
Spray muffin pan with cooking/baking spray.
  4. 4
Put each little ball into the muffin pan.
  5. 5
    Brush with egg glaze (optional).
  6. 6
Cover dough to rise until size doubles- 1 hour.
  7. 7
    Bake at 375 degrees F, 10-20 minutes.

Rather than use muffin cups I made 16 freeform shaped dinner rolls. The rolls are light, easy and delicious! I do not have an ABM so I used my stand mixer. My rolls took about 17 minutes as well. I will make these again thanks for sharing your recipe.

These rolls are terrific! Very light and fluffy and so easy to make. I made dinner rolls, putting two balls of dough in each muffin cup. I baked for 17 minutes and they were perfect. Thanks for posting this recipe! Made for Fall PAC 2008

Since trying this recipe I have made it many times. I make cloverleaf dinner rolls out of the dough and now they are requested at every family gathering. My kids can't get enough of them! TERRIFIC recipe.
