Bulk Taco Seasoning Mix

Recipe #4292 | 10 min | 10 min prep | add private note

I adopted this recipe from the Recipezaar account in 2005 and when I tried it, I agreed with the reviewer that the recipe was too salty as posted; therefore I decreased the salt from 3 Tablespoons to 1 Tablespoon. Add more if desired or leave it out entirely.

3/4 cups (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Combine the ingredients.
  2. 2
Store in an airtight container in a cool dry place for up to 1 year.
  3. 3
Add 2 Tablespoons to 1 lb cooked and drained beef and 1/3-1/2 cup water and cook until done.

This is delicious and easy to make in smaller portions, which I did to make "Crock Pot Chicken Taco Meat" with rave results. Thanks for posting it!

This is great! I didn't have the dried garlic so I used 2 teaspoons of garlic powder and probably could use a little more. Make sure to crush the red pepper flakes too, so that you distribute the spicy goodness throughout! We Love this recipe and it's a keeper! Thanks so much for sharing!

This was really good. We made tacos for dinner last night. I browned the meat and drained off the fat. Then I added a few spoonsful of the mix and the water and simmered it until the water evaporated (it took longer than the 2 minutes suggested in the recipe - more like 10 minutes).

I tried your recipe for taco seasonings mix 2 The flavor was good but the salt content was way to high. I would just increase the beef bouillon to 3 teaspoons and leave the salt out.
