Very yummy and chewy brownies. I got this recipe from a good friend who has had this in her family for years.

SERVES 8 -10 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Cocoa Glaze

Directions

  1. 1
    The first 3 ingredients cook over a stove on medium heat, till margarine melts.
  2. 2
    Remove from heat, add the eggs and vanilla.
  3. 3
    Then add the remaining ingredients.
  4. 4
    Stir in the walnuts.
  5. 5
    Put in a greased 8 inch squared pan, bake at 350 for 25 minutes.

    I make a double batch.

    Cocoa Glaze: Combine icing sugar, and cocoa powder.

    Beat in margarine, add 1-2 tbsps of boiling water to make a smooth glaze.

These brownies are delicious, easy, and so simple to make that I've already made them twice already in a week or so. I didn't even make them with the frosting and haven't even put nuts in them yet. They are even good that way. Everyone loved them! Thanks for sharing.

    I made these last night.I had baked all week-end and was out of nuts but had 1/2 bag of crushed Heath candy bars for baking.These are really good and so easy to make.My sister had never made brownies from scratch until she made these and loved them.No more out of the box for her.Thank you for the recipe Tweety Grams.

    I had an unbelievable chocolate craving, and these brownies sure did the trick! Very easy to make, and very tasty! Instead of walnuts, I used some slivered almonds that I wanted to use up. After pouring on the glaze, I sprinkled a few more almonds on top. Next time, I think I will make a double batch, as suggested in step 6 - a single batch just disappears too quickly! However, in the directions for making the cocoa glaze, it doesn't say when we're supposed to add the vanilla, so I just added it when I added the butter. Came out fine.
