Bread Machine Oatmeal Bread

Recipe #94271 | 5 min | 5 min prep | add private note

By: Charmed

This is a very nice, basic oatmeal bread for your bread machine that I do make fairly often. The ingredients are simple, and great for those avoiding dairy products, since it's made with water. I think you'll like it. NOTE: I never tried it with wheat germ, but I'd bet it would be great! Baking time will vary based on your machine.

1 loaf (change servings and units)

Used oil for the butter and brown sugar for the honey. Great bread! Better, I think, than the Best Bread Machine Bread Ever from allrecipes.

I LOVE this bread!!!! I've made it three times to give as gifts and it got rave reviews and requests for the recipe...this is something I never do....make something without trying it first, but I had a good feeling about this recipe. Today I made a loaf for myself and it's wonderul. I follow the recipe exactly, using the wheat germ. I haven't had to add extra flour or water. It makes a rustic loaf with a perfect texture and Oh My, toasted with jam...heavenly! Please try this, you won't be disappointed. Thank you so much Charmed for this outstanding recipe.

This was very tasty with a nice, slightly chewy texture, as any good oatmeal bread should have. I used 1 cup of oatmeal & 2 cups of flour & it turned out fine.

just pulled this out of the oven and it's very good. i always make my recipes lighter, so i substituted apple sauce for the butter and used whole wheat bread and gluten. very good and easy. thanks
