This was really good! Easy and fast and inexpensive to make!! I browned the ground beef first. This was so good - I know I will make it again!

This is delicious! What a simple, wonderful comforting meal this is. The best part is, it is easy enough to prepare that even a kitchen illiterate husband can (and did!) prepare this with excellence results. Thanks for sharing!

Tried this tonight, as I had everything on hand, and the recipe was simple. I think the key here is something pointed out by Sugarpea....cook with a lid on the casserole...which is what I did. Turned out great and is a keeper. Lots can be done with this recipe. I did not mind the veggies being on top of the beef, since I really prefer the total taste of each of the veggies without a whole lot of interference from the meat. The lid kept the moisture in the veggies, and still gave them a subtle flavor in the cooking. Thanks Millie for a good basic recipe that is so adaptable to many veggie variations!

Ah, the simple life. This basic recipe adapted well to the addition of cajun seasoning. I baked the casserole with a cover and was pleased with the amount of flavorful juices produced. Meat and potato fans LOVE this.
