Bourbon Chicken

Recipe #45809 | 35 min | 15 min prep | add private note

By: LinMarie

I searched and finally found this recipe on the internet. It is a copycat of the Bourbon Chicken sold in Chinese carry-outs in my hometown. This recipe is so good that my sons gobble it up leaving me just a spoonful. Their excuse was they thought I had eaten.

This was really easy to put together and everyone like it. I only used 1/4 teaspoon of the pepper flakes and apple raspberry juice because that is what I had open. Everyone thought it was delicious. The big boys wanted it spicier. I will be making it again with the full amount of red pepper. Thanks for sharing!

Well with over 1700 reviews I thought I couldn't go wrong...and didn't. This was excellent, my husband loved it and i have made it twice already in two weeks. The slight changes I made: I used apple cranberry juice b/c it is what i had, and doubled the ginger. I think I will use lower sodium soy sauce in the future, as I think it is a bit salty but husband thought it was perfect as is. Thanks for sharing, a very easy to make keeper.

Loved this recipe. Used orange juice instead of apple juice, balsamic instead of cider vinegar, and it still turned out great. Thank you.

Excellent recipe. I must confess when it was first published I enquired if the burbon had been left out of the recipe (I had never heard of Burbon Chicken) but can assure you that no burbon is needed. I served it over rice as suggested with oven baked asparagus and a carrot salad - fabulous meal. I used hot pepper flakes and fresh garlic (3/4 tsp) Nice heat great recipe thatnks LinMarie
