Recipe #32191 | 2¼ hours | 5 min prep | add private note

By: Virginia Chandler
Jun 25, 2002

Found this in a magazine years ago and it is the best blue cheese dressing I have ever had. Made as is it is very thick which I like as a salad dressing but it is also perfect as a dip for veggies, pretzels etc. You can add more milk or water to make it thinner.

SERVES 6 -8 , 2 Cups (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Mix sour cream and cream cheese until smooth.
  2. 2
Stir in onion salt lemon juice and milk.
  3. 3
Add blue cheese and mix will.
  4. 4
    Refrigerate at least 2 hours.

Great dip on endive and crusty bread. I also add L& P worcestershire sauce and fresh ground black pepper for some extra zip.

I decided to make a huge batch of wings for a party I cooked for tonight. Obviously I needed to choose a Blue Cheese dip recipe to go with them. This one is perfect! I'd never had it before but I'm hooked now, and everybody seemed to really enjoy it. Thanks so much for sharing!

I am a cheese addict, for years I have made and searched for a Blue Cheese Dressing I really like.Well now I have found IT!!I made it using the food processor, used Gorgonzola and the result was a thick creamy dressing with, what I consider, the right balance of flavor.I teamed this up with two other Zaar recipes:TGI Friday's Style Wings TGI Friday's Style Wings and Yummy Potato Skins Yummy Baked Potato Skins and can fully recommend this combination to you. A tip for people who will also make this using the food processor, make sure you have some cellery sticks nearby to clean out the bowl!!!!

This made the best blue cheese dressing I have ever had. It was very easy to make. I used low fat ingredients, and I'm sure it didn't hurt the taste any. Thank you for this recipe. I will make it often.
