Blasted Broccoli

Recipe #281313 | 13 min | 10 min prep | add private note

This recipe is really delicious and couldn't be simpler to make, and only takes a few minutes to cook. The broccoli comes out crisp-tender; the broccoli has a slightly crisp exterior from cooking it at such high heat. This recipe is from Food & Wine.

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Preheat the oven to 500 degrees.
  2. 2
Arrange the broccoli florets in a single layer on a baking sheet. Toss them with olive oil and salt, and roast just until they are cooked through and slightly brown and crispy at the edges, just a few minutes.
  3. 3
Remove the broccoli to a bowl and toss with balsamic vinegar to taste. Serve immediately.

I love broccoli and this was a great way to have it. Loved the balsamic vinager and after taking it out of the oven I added fresh grated parmasian cheese as another reviewer did. This was sooo easy and tasted very fresh. It was so good I actually ate the whole thing myself for my dinner. Thanks for a great recipe.

We love roasted broccoli and we love balsamic, so this was a great pairing for us. Made for a very yummy side dish!

I really didn't think I could love broccoli any more than I all ready did, but I think this recipe nudged the love affair to a higher level. Thanks ever so much for sharing...I roast lots of veggies, it never occurred to me that I ought to be roasting broccoli as well. Again, much thanks!

The broccoli was crisp-tender and the most beautiful green colour. I actually cooked this at 425F because I already had meat in the oven at that temperature. It still cooked in about 5-6 minutes. I topped with fresh shredded parmesan and my husband and I thought it was quite good. Thx TasteTester!
