A beautiful shake to start your day. No soy, nor dairy, and the taste is creamy goodness that will sustain you all morning. Sesame seeds are a great source of calcium.

SERVES 4 , 4 cups (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons raw black sesame tahini
  • 1 cup raw cashews or walnuts
  • 1/2 cup organic pitted dates (I prefer khadrawy for their creamy, caramel-like texture)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla (real and preferable organic)
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 cup ice

Directions

  1. 1
Blend all ingredients but the ice in a blender until smooth. Add the ice and blend until smooth. Serve immediately. This keeps in the fridge for 4 days.

I am rating this a 5 star even tho I didn't do it with black sesame...(just too $$ pricey for me right now, but I could not wait to give this a whirl - soooo-I know a good place to get the "regular" seed in bulk for a super bargain & I just made my own raw tahini & went from there...used cashews and a bit of excellent local raw honey to supplement for my less than stellar quality dates -results= a delicious smoothie- a really creamy sweet treat LOVED IT - drank some straight away and stored the rest in the freezer to used with green smoothies for the calcium boost- a nice change from nut milks...thanks for the recipe share...really want to try the black seeds too I know the flavor would be more intense (I'll be back then to revisit this, but in the meanwhile will make it this way again and often) -Thanks again rawgoddess.
