I got this recipe from a friend, they are very good and easy to make.

SERVES 12 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
4 teaspoons baking powder
2 tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup butter or margarine, cold
3/4 cup milk, cold

Directions

Preheat oven to 425 F Mix first 4 ingredients together in a bowl.

Cut in butter with a pastry blender or a fork, or two knives, until crumbly.

Add milk.

Stir until it forms a ball.

Add a bit more milk if necessary to make a soft dough.

Roll or pat to 1 inch thick.

Cut into circles with a biscuit cutter or a floured glass.

Arrange on a greased baking sheet.

Bake in 425 F for about 10- 12 minutes or until risen and nicely browned. (in my oven it usually takes 15 minutes).

Made it on a rainy day and my boyfriend came home after a long day and gobbled it all up. I made some adjustments, used half and half for milk since I had some that was about to expire and added basil, rosemary and some shredded medium cheddar cheese- they turned out perfect. Thank you so much!

This Recipe was very simple and it made simple biscuits. I was looking more for a fluffy biscuit and these did not rise as much as I thought they would. I will not be making these again.

These were the best biscuits I have ever made. I was interested since I had never had biscuits with that much sugar in them and also made with butter. They just had a hint of sweetness and were the most moist biscuits I have ever eaten. I usually find that most biscuits are a little dry...but not these. My dough was on the sticky side...but I didn't want to ruin the texture so instead of adding flour and rolling the dough to cut them out...I simply took a handfull of dough and patted it with my palm onto the cooky sheet. I would not make them in any other way...they made 9 nice large biscuits puffs. Terrific recipe!!!

I make biscuits like this — recipe is close to the same. Instead of bothering with a "biscuit cutter" for round biscuits I pat the dough out into a rectangle and cut them into squares. Delish.
