Beef Sandwich Au Coke

Recipe #63479 | 6¼ hours | 5 min prep | add private note

By: Bec
Jun 2, 2003

This delicious recipe came from my dad's aunt, Norma Albers from Kiester, MN. Everyone loves it; even the picky little ones! It is great for a large group, and we are planning on making this for my brother's high school graduation open house in June. I hope you enjoy it!

SERVES 30 -35 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 1 (12 ounce) can Coca-Cola

  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 package French onion soup (I use Lipton Recipe Secrets Onion Soup and Dip mix)
  • 4-5 lbs pot roast
  • 30-35 small rolls or 15 hamburger buns

Directions

  1. 1
First, I suppose you can gather the ingredients.
  2. 2
Then, put them all into a crockpot- that is it!
  3. 3
Cook them in the crockpot for approximately 6 hours covered.
  4. 4
    Stir every once in awhile.
  5. 5
When this is done, the meat will be shredded.
  6. 6
If you are having them on mini"bunwiches," it will serve between 30-35.
  7. 7
If you are using regular hamburger buns, it will serve around 15 people.
  8. 8
    Enjoy!

Great tasting sandwiches, I cooked on low for about 8 hrs and still had to shred the meat. When I make it again, and I will!!. I'll cook on high and drain some of the liquid off before serving. Loved by family!!

I followed the directions exactly although you never said to put it on low or high. I put it on low and after 8 hours it wasn't shredded nor easily shred so I just sliced it as thin as I could. It had a nice flavor and was soft but I would have liked it better had it been shredded. Maybe I'll try high next time.
