Bami Goreng ( Indonesian Stir Fried Noodles )

Recipe #110266 | 45 min | 30 min prep | add private note

There are as many recipes for Bami Goreng as there are people to make them. Bami Goreng is an Indonesian dish that's traditional to Holland. It seems like a lot of work but it really isn't - if I'm having company for dinner I slice, dice and prepare all my ingredients (including cooking the noodles) and place them in separate zip-lock bags in the refrigerator until I'm ready to use. This makes actual cooking time a snap! This is my version and I hope you enjoy it. You can spice it up if you like by adding more or less sambal.

This is great! The rating is based on the following changes: I used egg noodles, no chicken breasts (served this with Kai Pad Bai Kaprow - Ground Chicken Stir Fried with Basil - Kai Pad Bai Kaprow), used reg. basil, 1/2 leek instead of scallions, no chili peppers, ground turkey, and I added about 4T ketjap manis (recipe from dvo.com - just google ketjap manis).

I used to live in the Dutch side of Belgium and LOVED bamigoreng! I tried this for lunch today and it was pretty good! The kids loved it, which is half the battle! It wasn't quite there though in terms of what I remember, but I'll be in Antwerp in three weeks, so will have to figure out the missing piece! Thanks for sharing!

The flavours in this dish are surpurb, will definately make again, added chinese cabbage, 21/2 Tbspns fish sauce and 1/4 cup ketchup topped with chopped peanuts at the end and squeezed lime juice over the top, what a burst of flavour the lime gives it. Thanks so much for posting
