Bamboo Rice

Short grain Chinese Rice with a green-tea like flavor. Good with Summer salads and Asian cooking. Has a somewhat sticky texture. Brightly colored and aromatic.

SERVES 4 , 2 cups cooked rice (change servings and units)

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rice (Bamboo Rice, do NOT rinse rice!)
  • 1 1/2 cups water

Directions

  1. 1
    Bring water to a boil.
  2. 2
    Add rice and bring back to boiling.
  3. 3
    Stir, cover, reduce heat to low.
  4. 4
    Simmer 12-15 minutes.
  5. 5
    Remove from heat and let stand, covered, 5-10 minutes.
  6. 6
    Fluff with fork and serve.
