Balsamic Strawberry and Basil Salad

My DH tried this at a fair. Thought I would post this for others to try. This recipe should be made started the night before.

SERVES 6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

basil granita

strawberry salad

Directions

    First Make Basil Granita, Make this at night.
  2. 2
    Boil Water and Sugar.
  3. 3
    Infuse basil for 15 Minutes and strain.
  4. 4
    Add lemon Juice and place in freezer.
  5. 5
    Next day Once frozen scrap with fork.
  6. 6
    Made Strawberry Juice.
  7. 7
    Place strawberries in a bowl over hot water for 15-20 minutes.
  8. 8
    Strain the juice being careful not to make cloudy.
  9. 9
    Last make Strawberry Salad.
  10. 10
    Cut strawberries and basil.
  11. 11
    Toss everyting together.
  12. 12
    Pour strawberry juice over the mixture and top with basil granita.

I really like this recipe, but found that the balsamic vinegar was good with the salad, but did not go so well with the granita.
