With this recipe you don’t need to boil the pasta separately. Just mix everything in a bowl and then bake. Now that’s comfort food.

SERVES 8 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
    Preheat over to 400°F.
  2. 2
In a large mixing bowl combine spaghetti sauce with sour cream. Stir in broth.
  3. 3
Add 1/2 cup Mozarella and 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese.
  4. 4
Stir in ziti and blend well.
  5. 5
Pour out into 9x13-inch baking dish, cover with foil, and bake for one hour.
  6. 6
After one hour, take out baking dish, uncover (carefully—very hot steam), and sprinkle with remaining cheeses.
  7. 7
Return dish to oven without cover and bake 5 more minutes, or until cheese is melted.

i changed it around a little because my bf is picky. he hates parmesan cheese. i used chicken broth, added browned meat and fresh chopped mushrooms. i only used about 8 oz of sour cream and added about .5 cup of milk. turned out nice and creamy. for full modifications see my blog. http://terrorinthekitchen.blogspot.com/2009/06/baked-ziti.html

This is a quick, tasty and filling meal. It's great for those nights when you don't have anything planned. I love a meatless dinner sometimes and this one hit the spot. Thanks for sharing.

A practically effortless pasta meal! What's not to love? I used beef broth in place of vegetable, but otherwise made no changes. It really relies on the quality of the spaghetti sauce that you choose. For those who need to have meat, I think pepperoni slices would be a great meat option for this. We loved it just as is and we'll be having this again! Thanx!

This is such an easy recipe and after a busy day at work, I was happy to have enough energy left to throw this together. I did add some more sauce and cheese on top after baking it, as it seemed a little dry. Next time I will just add more sauce to the ingredients. I think since the pasta was not boiled it absorbed a lot of liquid. Thanks for a great and easy recipe.
