Baked Spaghetti Casserole

Recipe #100353 | 45 min | 15 min prep | add private note

We love the Market Day Spaghetti Pie casserole. This is my own version that the kids like even better and its cheaper!

1 13x9 pan (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Preheat oven to 350 and PAM a 13x9 deep baking dish.
  2. 2
In large skillet, brown ground beef.
  3. 3
In large pot cook pasta to al dente'.
  4. 4
When beef is cooked, drain and add spaghetti sauce and hot water (I always dump the water in the jar and shake it up to get the last bit of sauce out before adding to the pan).
  5. 5
Add garlic and veggies and simmer about 10 minutes.
  6. 6
When pasta is done, drain in a colander and rinse with hot water, let sit temporarily.
  7. 7
    In pasta pot, melt margarine.
  8. 8
Stir in parmesan cheese, then add pasta back into pan.
  9. 9
Beat eggs with milk and toss with pasta mixture.
  10. 10
    Press pasta in pan evenly.
  11. 11
Top with sauce mixture, spreading to the edges.
  12. 12
Bake at 350 for 15 minutes.
  13. 13
Top with cheeses and bake additional 15 minutes until cheese starts to melt and brown.
  14. 14
Remove from oven and let sit for 10 minutes for easier cutting.
  15. 15
    Cut into squares.
  16. 16
This makes a lot and freezes well in individual squares for lunches.

I made this tonight for dinner! It was very easy to make, yummy too! I look forward to eating the frozen left overs in the near future! I plan on adding this to my monthly dinner list. If I could change anything I would add a little more sauce, overall it was great though! Thanks!

Very easy to make. Personally I would add more pasta sauce and use less angel hair. This is a recipe that I will make again but use my suggestions. Thank you for posting such a great idea to baked spaghetti.

This is SO YUMMY! I used jarred sauce (didnt have time to make my own) and found I used about 1 1/2 jars, although I like things saucey. The cheese in the middle was the best and it is enough for the whole family. Very good, will make again

Very good easy-to-make kid pleaser super dish. I used leftover spaghetti sauce instead of the bottled so I skipped the onions, garlic, mushrooms and green pepper. I also used cheddar cheese (instead of the combo) and a bit over the recommended amount. The leftovers will make wonderful lunches. Thanks for sharing!
