Made these today as small muffins for a pancake brunch at the American Legion here in Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico. They got rave reviews and had to go home and print off the recipe for people. I followed the recipe using Mexican brown sugar, cinnamon, clove and dried cranberries. I also added chopped apples. Thanks for sharing with us!

It holds it's shape and crumbles a bit but it's not a cake so it's to be expected. After an overnight in the fridge it firmed up considerably so perhaps you need to let it fully cool. I added nutmeg and vanilla extract to this as well. Turned out yummylicious! House smelled great while it was baking!

I have to say after all the 5 star reviews i had my hopes up...like munchkin mama's, my oatmeal was crumbly, and i used the milk not water that she did. I did leave the raisins out but other than that i followed it exact. the taste was good but i wouldn't make it again because of the consistancy. Mine sure did not stay together like the pictures

Wow, this oatmeal is amazing!! I've tried lots of oatmeal recipes here on Zaar and this is my favorite! I even had to use water for the milk because my daughter has a dairy allergy. The consistency was crumbly (not sure if it was supposed to be that way or if it was just because of the water instead of milk) and it would make a super-great topping for vanilla ice cream. Serving size is right-on. So yummy and quick to prepare- will be making often. Thanks, Terri
