These are really good. Yes they are a muffin but you can bake them in a doughnut pan. I just dipped the tops in cinnamon and butter. Easier cleanup. I made 6 large dougnut muffins and 3 small but overfilled my pans a bit so I could probably get a few more next time. I will definitely make again. My kids loved them and even I (muffin hater) liked them.

I messed up the recipe, so I won't mess with the stars. I threw in all the dry ingredients including the cinnamon. The flavor of the doughnuts is good, even with the cinnamon inside. I don't know if this threw off the texture, but these doughnuts look like muffins AND taste like them too. Not so much the gooey doughnut texture you expect from a fried doughnut. However, they are probably a lot healthier, and taste good too

The next time I make this, I would really only dip the top of the doughnuts in the sugar mixture as we found them a tad sweet. Thank you for posting.

These were light and fluffy and ohhhh so good! I followed the directions, but used butter instead of margarine. I also used fresh grated nutmeg. I baked them in a special doughnut shaped pan and got six large doughnuts! Thank you Dreamgoddess for a great recipe!
