Bailey's Irish Cream Bread Pudding

This is one of my adopted recipes.

SERVES 6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
  2. 2
    Butter one 2-quart casserole dish.
  3. 3
    Prepare a water bath for the 2-quart casserole dish by placing a larger dish with water in the oven.

    Place bread cubes in the 2-quart casserole dish.
  5. 5
    Beat together the eggs, sugar, and vanilla.
  6. 6
    Slowly add the scalded milk and Bailey's Irish Cream.
  7. 7
    Pour over the bread.
  8. 8
    If desired, sprinkle with brown sugar, nutmeg, and raisins.
  9. 9
    Place the casserole in the water bath and bake for 50 to 60 minutes or until a knife inserted in the middle comes out clean.

    Server either hot or chilled.

    When You take the pudding out of the oven, if the pudding seems to be dry, you can sprinkle some Bailey's over the top to help make it moist.

This was a delish addition for St. Paddy's day! There was just a lone morsel left after the family descended. The only change I'd make would be to lighten up on the Baileys a smidge — the alcohol was a touch overpowering. Then again, it's the post-meal drink and dessert rolled into one!

    this was a treat for DH. he couldn't stop eating this....lol. I made this for him when I had some leftover french bread and he has asked me to make it again anytime that happens again....lol. Thank you for sharing your recipe with us.

    This was great!!! One slight alteration....after step 7, i did let the bread soak up the mixture for an hour.....YUMS!

    My family absolutely loves bread pudding--better than pie--so I decided to make this for Christmas dessert (leaving out the raisins because my BIL doesn't like them). Of course it was a hit. The flavor from the Bailey's came through very strongly and made it extra special. This just might become a family tradition.
