Great appetizer. Quick and easy to do. Serve with a Creamy Mustard Sauce (recipe below). This is from the November 2008 Southern Living Magazine.

SERVES 6 -8 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Creamy Mustard Sauce

Directions

  1. 1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Microwave 10 bacon slices in batches, between paper towels at HIGH for 1 1/2 minutes. Cut slices in half crosswise.
  2. 2
Wrap bacon piece around each Brussels sprout half; secure with a wooden pick. Place sprouts, cut sides down, on a lightly greased wire rack on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with pepper to taste. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until bacon is crisp and Brussels sprouts are tender. Serve with Creamy Mustard.
  3. 3
Creamy Mustard Sauce: Stir together all ingredients. Makes 1/2 cup.

We love brussels sprouts and bacon but found these to be just okay. The creamy mustard sauce made way too much and I don't know what to do with what's left.

DH raved about these. What a great recipe. I didn't use as much bacon as called for since my sprouts were so small (I used frozen). The flavor was excellent. I served this with the mustard sauce and also some ranch dressing. I also used metal skewers instead of the tooth picks and placed them over a foiled rimmed pan since I didn't have a wire rack turning them over half way through cooking time. Worked like a charm Thanks so much for sharing. Made for I Recommend

Mary - these are great little appetizers!! Everyone at Thanksgiving was very skeptical but once they dipped this little goodies into the mustard sauce they were won over! I used a garlic pepper grinder for the pepper in your recipe. They baked up perfectly in 20 minutes. Thanks for adding to my Thanksgiving day with a terrific appy. Made for Newest Zaar Tag Game.

I love brussel sprouts and I love bacon so how could I have gone wrong here? I didn't precook the bacon and adjusted the baking time to coordinate with the lower temp I had been using to cook my holiday ham. The creamy mustard sauce was like icing on the cake - it just made me smile Thanks for posting!
