Awful Potatoes

Recipe #11630 | 1 hour | 15 min prep | add private note

By: carolle simmers
Sep 13, 2001

We called them Awful Potatoes in the hopes that others wouldn't try them and there would be more left for us. Unfortunately, everyone in the family is on to us and digs right in.

SERVES 4 -6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Cook potatoes in salted water until done.
  2. 2

  3. 3
Add sour cream, cream cheese and garlic salt and mash.
  4. 4
Turn into baking dish and sprinkle cheddar on the top.
  5. 5
Bake in a 350 degree oven for 45-50 minutes until puffed and golden brown.

I used fat free cream cheese and light sour cream and it was still amazing! Only 5 Weight Watchers Points for 1 serving. Not bad for amazing potatoes.

So delicious! 3 of us nearly finished the whole pan of it! I used low fat cream cheese and sour cream, so I don't feel as guilty...definitely a keeper!

I made these for a dinner party recently. They were a huge hit. I had NO leftovers. I added some minced garlic and whipping cream as well. YUMMY!!!

These awful potatoes sure did taste awful, good that is! I didn't use as much sour cream as called for, and used lite cream cheese. My son loved them, thanks for posting. =)
