This sauce is SO good! I made this to serve with your meatballs Authentic Italian Meatballs and spaghetti. I made a few alterations... I halved the tomatos and tomato puree. I had no cloves on hand so I used ΒΌ t of powdered cloves. I used 1 T sugar and we like garlic so I used 5 cloves. It was fantastic. Next time I am going to try it in my slow cooker. It was a lovely rich sauce. Thank you for a great "keeper" 28 May 2009 This also freezes and reheats beautifully!

Another great recipe! As soon as I smelled this wonderful sauce I was dying to have a taste, since there was raw meat in there, I had to wait! LOL My DH was asleep and the smell woke him up LMAO I let him taste a meatball and the first thing he said was MMMM great sauce! His late grandmother was Italian and he loved her sauce, he said your's was only 2nd to hers LOL I guess this will be the sauce from now on since we don't have her recipe. BTW, I only used 2 28oz cans of puree and one 28oz can of tomatoes, that made a TON of sauce....116oz seemed like way too much, are those industrial sized cans? lol Thank you so much for posting this!
