Looking for a gift idea for friends and family? Or maybe you're looking for some ornaments for a Christmas tree! Try these fragrant ornaments! Maybe you could make this a pre-holiday family activity and get everyone involved!! Cook time includes drying time for ornaments. 2 trays of ornaments, depending on size of cutters used...this is a guess-ti-mate!

    Combine spices.
  2. 2
    Add applesauce.
  3. 3
    Roll dough onto ungreased cookie sheet to 1/4-inch thickness.
  4. 4
    Cut into desired shapes with cookie cutters.
  5. 5
    Remove excess dough and repeat process on other cookie sheets.
  6. 6
    Make a hole in top of each shape.
  7. 7
    Allow to dry for 5 days.
  8. 8
    Tie ribbon or yarn through hole.
  9. 9
    May be decorated with acrylic paint.

I had a hard time with these. The "dough" was very crumbly and the dried ornaments stuck to the cookie sheets like cement. The non-stick sheet worked okay so we got a few very thin and fragile ones. I painted them with a thin layer of glue to strengthen them a bit and then decorated them with glitter glue.

    These smelled so good. The only thing was I had to add about 1/4 cup more of cinnamon-but they turned out fine.

    your recipe is the tops for this ornament---there is nothing better than the smell of pine and cinnamon apple! easy for the kids, not too messy and a great family fun project!!!
