These are great! I've made them quite a few times now and they have been yummy. I double the apple, add some cinnamon and often use half whole wheat flour. Usually I divide them into small individual scones so I can freeze them and just thaw out one or two when I want a snack. I have also made them with chocolate chips instead of apple but that sort of defeats the healthy part...

I replaced 1/2 cup of the flour with oatmeal, and added a few dashes of cinnamon and a bit of nutmeg. Delicious with milky coffee for breakfast on a snowy morning!

We had these for Easter brunch. I thought that they were very good. They were actually better after sitting for a day or two. I did add some cinnamon to the dough when preparing due to the fact that I love cinnamon! The only thing that I will change next time is to add a full cup of apples instead of just a half of a cup. There was not quite enough apple taste to suit us. Thanks so much for the recipe.

I used half whole wheat flour for these and they turned out so good I didn't need to spread butter or jam on them!
