Directions

  1. 1
Dissolve yeast and 1 tbsp sugar in warm water.
  2. 2
Scald milk, then add butter, sugar and salt.
  3. 3
    Cool to lukewarm.
  4. 4
    Add two cups flour.
  5. 5
    Add yeast and eggs.
  6. 6
Stir in the remainder of the flour and knead lightly.
  7. 7
    Let rise until double.
  8. 8
While dough is rising, boil all syrup ingredients for two minutes.
  9. 9
Divide syrup into six 8-inch square pans (or I sometimes use 3- 9x13 pans).
  10. 10
When dough is doubled, punch down and divide into two parts.
  11. 11
Roll each part (one at a time) into a 12x18-inch rectangle on a well floured board or table.
  12. 12
Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  13. 13
Roll up tightly, beginning at the wide side.
  14. 14
Cut into 1 inch slices, and lay slices on top of the syrup in the pans.
  15. 15
    Repeat with all dough.
  16. 16
Bake at 375°F for 15 minutes.

Wow, Wow, Wow! sticky buns is right. The bread came out so soft and the dough is very easy to handle too. Delish. A definite keeper. One note, make sure you flip the buns over while still warm because it is very hard to do it once they are cool. Note: I will use this dough for cinnamon buns the next time. Thank you WJking for sharing the recipe.

My 15 yr. old son made this for our church's Easter breakfast, and they were gobbled up. I thought it looked too hard for him, but they turned out wonderful.
