I found this recipe in my files. I dont remember where I got it, but it's good. I love the simplicity of the recipe.

1 Pie (change servings and units)

Ingredients

CRUMB TOPPING

Directions

    Beat sour cream and egg together.
  2. 2
    Add flour, sugar, salt and vanilla.
  3. 3
    Mix until smooth.
  4. 4
    Stir in apples.
  5. 5
    Bake at 400 degrees for 25 minutes.
  6. 6
    Mix the crumb topping ingredients until crumbly.
  7. 7
    Remove pie from oven and spread with crumb topping.
  8. 8
    Bake 20 more minutes.

Wow - someone stole my grandmother's recipe!! LOL. One thing to note - the apples need to be tart - Granny Smith - makes ALL the difference. Sssshhh, don't let the secret out

    Simple, yet delicious and easy. I cut the sugar down, and added extra cinnamon and nutmeg. Based on other reviews, I also added oats to the topping. I made mini pies - they looked better than those sold at the Union Square Farmer's Market - and tasted better too!

    My family fell in love with this pie. I found it easy to make - the only thing is that I needed a larger pie plate than 9 inch.
