Almond Brown Sugar Brownies

this is an adaption/ homemade recipe. They are really good.

SERVES 40 , 40 brownies (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

    heat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. 2
    Heat shortening and chocolate in a 3 quart saucepan, until melted. Remove from heat.
  3. 3
    Stir in remaining ingredients, in this order : flour, sugar,almond paste, almonds,eggs, baking powder, and salt.

    Spread into a greased 13x9x2 baking dish.
  5. 5
    Bake until brownies start to pull away from sides of pan . After 20 minutes, you need to check every 2 minutes. It should not be longer than 30 minutes.

    Do not overbake.

    When done take them out and let cool for 6-8 minute.

    Cut into 2x1 bars.

Made these for a special take-to-work-&-share event for my other half & just a little bit ago I got a phone call saying that they were gone within 2 hours ~ Not bad, I'd say! Now I just have to make them again so I can get a taste of them for myself! Apparently the big rave was about the chocolate & almond flavor combo! Thanks for sharing your recipe!     super wonderful cookies, and so forgot to review them that im blushing. i made the almond paste from a recipe here, just terrific brownies
