All Season Peanut & Corn Suet Bird Treats

Recipe #283546 | 1¼ hours | 15 min prep | add private note

of handwritten notes from somewhere...sorry I cannot remember where I found this recipe. This is an "all-season" suet treat for birds but I still find that I use it more in the late fall - early spring seasons but maybe that is because I do not feed my bird friends suet in the summer and instead use a variety of unsalted nuts.

SERVES 8 , 8 suet cakes (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Combine peanut butter and water in a saucepan and bring to a boil.
  2. 2
Cook until peanut butter completely melts.
  3. 3
Add remaining ingredients and mix well.
  4. 4
Bring to a boil again and boil for 1 minute.
  5. 5
Pour into suet molds or a bread pan and allow to cool completely.
  6. 6
If using bread pan, slice into a thickness that will fit into your suet feeders.
  7. 7
Store unused portions in your freezer until needed.
