Alfredo Sauce

Recipe #64196 | 15 min | add private note

There is an Italian restaurant that my husband and I just happened upon. It's the real deal, owned and operated by an Italian family. My husband loved their Fettuccine Alfredo, the sauce was so thick you could eat it with a fork. The restaurant is a good ways from home and he had a craving for it, so I looked for a recipe that might work, I found several different ones and kind worked from each one til I found the right combination. It was just what he was looking for so he had me write it down so I wouldn't forget the next time I tried to fix it. I'm bad about that, coming up with a new recipe and not being able to remember it the next time. Thought I might share it. Thick and creamy!

So good, and majorly easy (Which is what I look for in cooking) If you really want to enjoy it, don't read the calorie content. It made me a little self conscious the whole meal.

AMAZING!!! I usually don't like alfredo sauce since it is hard to find a good recipe. I can not tell you how excited I was to finally come across this one. I like to add spinach and chicken. Thanks!

Extremely creamy and rich with great flavor. I used several cloves of fresh chopped garlic instead of the garlic powder and whipping cream instead of half and half. Served it over fettucini as a primavera, with grilled chicken breast and steamed garden vegetables. It was DELICIOUS! Thanks for a great recipe.

I have made this for myself a number of times now and each time it tastes great. I haven't made any substitutions except milk if I didn't have 1/2 and 1/2, the cream cheese allows the sauce to remain thick. I'm sure fresh garlic would be great as well but it's the simplicity of this dish that keeps me coming back. Thank You for your recipe
