Let the sauce simmer as long as you can! Cream cheese is optional, I add it to aide in thickening the sauce.

SERVES 8 , 2 -3 pints (change servings and units)

    In a saucepan combine butter, cream, and cream cheese.

    Simmer until all is melted and mixed well.

    Add the Parmesan cheese and garlic powder.

    Simmer for 15 - 20 minutes on low.

    Season to taste with salt and pepper.

    Half-and-half cream can be substituted for whipping (heavy) cream if desired, however, milk is not recommended.
