Crock Pot Apple Crisp Dessert

Recipe #99619 | 3¼ hours | 15 min prep | add private note

I love using my crock pot and this smells wonderful while its cooking! I like to make this in the Fall when apples are at their best! This is very easy to make and very satisfying!

SERVES 6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Generously spray a crock pot with non stick cooking spray, line with apples.
  2. 2
Mix together flour, sugar, spices and margarine in a bowl.
  3. 3
Cover the apples with this mixture.
  4. 4
(Pack it on top.) Cook on high for 3-4 hours.
  5. 5
Scoop out a portion and serve with any or all of the optional toppings: Vanilla ice cream, Whipped cream or whipped topping, if desired.
  6. 6
    * I use a medium size crock pot to make this. Using a large crock pot will probably not work well as the ingredients will be too spread out and may burn around the edges.

This is just what my family was looking for! My DH is always asking me to make him an apple pie. Making it in the crock pot is just right for the summer. We put a dab of whiped cream on it and ate it wile it's hot! Thankx Little Bee

This is an easy peasy way to make a dessert when you are gone for a bit or cooking on all and in all surfaces for a dinner. The house smelled delicious as well. I made this for a dinner last month and forgot to review right away. Dh and DF-in-L liked it. They could not believe I did it in a crockpot. I cooked on low for 2 hours and then turned to low for about an hour and a half. It tasted good, but like others the crust burned on the edges. I do like the topping ut I did add more cinnamon and instead of 1 1/2 c flour split that between oatmeal and flour. Made it more cruchy and homey (like the oven kind I make). I plan to make this again and am going to plan around cooking as I want to watch it before the top edges burn and stick. Good recipe. Thank you.

I made this yesterday using Bramley Cooking apples, but otherwise following the recipe exactly. MMMMMM...it smelled absolutely delicious while it was cooking and we could hardly wait to tuck in to it. Our patience was rewarded with a surprisingly lovely crust on top,and meltingly delicious apple on the bottom. I served it with Vanilla Ice Cream while it was still warm, and I confess I am eyeing the rest here for breakfast! (I know, I am a naughty girl!) Thanks for a great recipe!

Followed the recipe exactly - found there was too much topping for the amount of apples. Smelled yummy when cooking, the apples were good but didn't enjoy the topping at all.
