Beef and Bean Burritos

Ingredients

Directions

    Saute onion in oil until tender.
  2. 2
    Add beef and garlic and cook until beef is no longer pink.
  3. 3
    Drain.
  4. 4
    Add chili powder, cumin & other seasonings.
  5. 5
    Stir in tomato sauce and simmer 5 minutes.
  6. 6
    Add refried beans and cook and stir until well blended.
  7. 7
    Set aside to cool completely.
  8. 8
    Divide meat mixture into 12 portions.
  9. 9
    Soften tortillas, according to package instructions, and place a portion of meat on each.

    Roll up, burrito style.

    These may be frozen as follows.

    Place seam side down on a cookie sheet and freeze until frozen.

    Wrap each individually and return to freezer.

I added cheese and extra chili powder, garlic powder and canned tomatoes. They were very good. I baked them at 350 for about 20 minutes. I liked that this recipe used tomato sauce in the filling. Thank you for posting this recipe!

    Just made this, it's rrrrrrrrrreally good! Couldn't stop eating the beef mixture while it cooled. I added some kidney beans to the mix just to increase the amount of fibre. Thanks for the suggestion to freeze, it will make for an easy lunch! Thanks!
