This recipe is so easy and requires so few ingredients that many doubt how good it will be. Well..I'm here to tell you that these are one of the best chocolate chip cookie bars you can make! No eggs, so the dough is great to eat as well Give it a try...I know you'll love them!

SERVES 16 -24 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

    Preheat oven to 375°.
  2. 2
    Beat butter, sugar, vanilla & salt.
  3. 3
    Gradually add flour and continue mixing.
  4. 4
    Stir in 1 1/2 cups chocolate morsels.
  5. 5
    Press into ungreased 9 x 13 pan.
  6. 6
    Bake at 375° for 20-22 minutes until golden on edges.
  7. 7
    Cool in pan until slightly warm.
  8. 8
    For topping:.
  9. 9
    Microwave 1/2 cup of chips in a ziploc bag for 1 minute on HIGH. Watch carefully.

    Knead the bag around until the morsels are melted and smooth.

    Cut a tip in the corner of the bag and drizzle chocolate onto the bars.

These tasted good but why oh why did you say ungreased pan? I nearly killed myself trying to get them out of my glass pan and it was lightly greased even though your recipe said ungreased. My husband refused to grease it as liberally as we normally would because the recipe specified ungreased.

    i don't know what i did, but this was the worst thing ever. i really don't get it. it almost broke my tooth. and i followed the recipe and even bought the specified sized pan. boo.

    I was looking for something to fill my sweet tooth & had no eggs in the house. This fit the bill perfectly! I left off the chocolate drizzle & they were still fantastic!
