Smoked Garlic Nuts

Recipe #97881 | 4¼ hours | 5 min prep | add private note
Hey Jude

I just made a pan of these and I think the price of the smoker was worth it for this recipe alone. These are so much better than store bought smoked nuts, which taste like all chemicals compared to these guys. I have a large smoker so when I take the trouble to crank it up for a roast or something, I try to use up the leftover space for anything I can get my hands on that looks like it could use a good smokin'. I used hickory chips for these nuts but I would think they'd be just as good with mesquite, oak or apple. I'm really sorry I didn't triple the recipe and I will next time. This is a great recipe to use up space in your smoker and serve with cocktails to your guests while waiting for the main course to finish.

These turned out pretty good but they were not wonderful. I smoked some spareribs tonight along with some ox tails. I added these with 2 garlic cloves (minced) with an 11 oz. can of mixed nuts into a fresh unused pie tin. I only kept these on for 2 hours and they were already starting to turn bitter. The rest of the food that I had cooked was on way longer and wasn't bitter. I have no idea what I did wrong but these just did not do it for us that much. If I were to make them again. I would only smoke them for an hours. I used Hickory. Thank you, Jude. I wish that I could have given a better review

I smoked a large can of mixed nuts for our 4th of July bash. OMG!!! These were excellent! We smoked chicken halves on the bottom shelves of the smoker & used a large roasting pan for the nuts on the top shelf. Gave 'em a shake when we stoked the chips. Too easy Used mesquite. Gonna have to make these for gifts for sure!!

I would give this recipe 10 stars if I could ~ it's just fantastic! I used a large can of mixed nuts and 2 minced garlic cloves and smoked them for about 5 hours. Wonderful! Thanks so much for posting this keeper recipe!!!!
