I was a little leary of this recipe because we are not crazy about the taste of bourbon, BUT I have to say that it was the best steak we have ever had! I increased the garlic to three or four cloves but I am sure it would have been great with the original amount. The steak came out as tender as butter. Excellent!!

Made it over the weekend as per recipe and absolutely loved it. So woody, tender and sweet. Only thing better was using the leftovers in sandwiches the following day - just yummy. Thanks for the recipe.

The steak, although grilled inside, developed a very pleasant "woody taste " similar to the oak flavor of the bourbon. The remaining marinade added to a simple roux from equal parts of butter and flour, made a very nice gravy.

I marinaded it overnight, increased the garlic to 3 cloves and cut the sugar to 1/2 tsp. Good hot skillet to brown it nicely and not over cook it MMMmmmm beautiful flavor Thanks Troy
