Tasty Baked Chops (And Easy Too!)

Recipe #90750 | 1¼ hours | 5 min prep | add private note

These pork chops are tender, juicy and mildly flavored. Don't worry, the bbq sauce adds a minimal bbq taste, and if you'd like a stronger bbq flavor use more sauce! My husband normally doesn't like pork chops, but this is the only recipe in which he will eat and enjoy them. If you refrigerate the chops an hour or two before baking, the coating will end up a bit more crispy on top. But, if you are pressed for time like me, just spray the tops with cooking spray and broil until crispy after they have baked.

SERVES 4 -6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
In a bowl, combine eggs and barbecue sauce until thoroughly mixed.
  2. 2
Combine breadcrumbs, garlic powder, pepper and onion salt.
  3. 3
Dip chops in egg mixture, turning to coat.
  4. 4
Dredge in breadcrumb mixture to coat both sides.
  5. 5
Place in a greased baking dish.
  6. 6
Bake, uncovered at 325 degrees for one hour.
  7. 7
*Note: For a crispier coating, coat the chops ahead of time and refrigerate for 2 hours.
  8. 8
Or, after baking, spray tops of chops with cooking spray and broil until crispy and golden brown.

Very good recipe. I didn't have any bread crumbs so i used crushed crackers crumbs instead. To make them tastey i added about 1 tbsp of thousand island. Other than that i did everything as stated and tasted delicous!

These were really wonderful! I breaded them several hours ahead of time (didn't have Italian breadcrumbs so I added a good amount of Italian seasoning)and used center-cut loin chops that were at least an inch thick and they were just delicious! Thanks for sharing your recipe!

These were SO good! Unlike another reviewer, the flavor of the barbecue sauce came through - but it wasn't too much to ruin the other flavors. I coated the chops and allowed them to refrigerate for two hours - but even after doing that when baking in the oven they didn't get crispy. So, I went ahead with spraying them with the cooking spray and broiling. Worked out great! I had some difficulty with the breading not sticking to the bottom - but other than that these were delicious. Very easy and simply, with great flavor!

I used panko (Japanese bread crumbs) because I didn't have any Italian bread crumbs. Instead I seasoned the panko with Italian herbs, a pinch of salt with the other seasonings. I used Kraft bbq sauce. This recipe is very easy - just dredge in crumbs and bake in the oven. I have some problem with the recipe though - I couldn't taste the bbq sauce at all. Although I left the chops in the fridge for an hour or so, the crumbs didn't really 'stick' to the meat. Anyway, my bf and I did finish them off (2 pork chops; I halved the recipe) - the taste was pretty good. Thanks for posting! (PICK A CHEF 2004)
