I've been making this for quite a few years now and my family loves it. It's great to use up leftover homemade chili. When making with canned chili I usually add some chopped onions - YUM. If I don't have buns, I just chunk up some bread - no one knows the difference.

I used leftover chili and left out the mustard. Loved it!

Absolutely excellent!! I was gonna say really kid-friendly, but I have to admit that I loved this one too! I used Skyline chili (which is comparable to Gold Star chili), which is sort of sweet, with a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg...The only kind my kids will eat! Thank you so much! DELISH! A new staple in our household! No leftovers!!!
