Halibut With Garlic Mayonnaise-Parmesan Topping

I adopted this recipe, I love, I make it often and even use it when I plank, it actually goes well with ANY fish I try it on, Original Intro: quick and easy meal.

SERVES 2 (change servings and units)

Directions

  1. 1
    To prepare the topping: Combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic, mustard, Parmesan, green onion and Tabasco.
  2. 2
    To prepare the halibut: Place fish on a broiling pan.
  3. 3
    Sprinkle with lemon juice, salt and pepper.
  4. 4
    Bake in a preheated 450-degree oven 12 minutes per inch of thickness, or until fish tests done.

    Remove fish from oven and place a rack close to the broiling element.
  6. 6
    Turn the oven to broil.
  7. 7
    Spread the top of the fish with garlic topping.
  8. 8
    Broil about 1 minute, or until golden.

This recipe is pretty impressive and ridiculously easy! I never eat cooked fish but I made it on Veterans Day for my husband as a special treat and I ended up eating just as much as him! I served it with rosemary garlic potato wedges and lemon asparagus. I will be trying this topping on every kind of fish

    Made with fresh halibut from Alaska. This was so delicious! I also added some sweet Walla Walla onion to the top.

    I made this for dinner last night and I can't say enough about how awesome it was! I don't cook fish often because I really don't have any great recipes for it, but I will be making this one over and over. My husband thought it was the best fish he'd ever eaten! I did use Red Snapper rather than Halibut because it was on sale and baked it at 350 for about 40 minutes rather than broiling because I did'nt want it to dry out on my husband who was working late. Meanie, this is so wonderful - thanks for sharing!!!

    This recipe may be billed as quick and easy, but Mean Chef forgot about delicious! This tastes like a restaurant entree. No extra tartar sauce is needed. If you like baked fish, you are going to love this!
