Kittencal's Extreme Chocolate Brownies

Recipe #87925 | 50 min | 15 min prep | 36 brownies (Change Servings)

RECIPE BY: KITTENCAL

A wonderful brownie recipe that takes little time to make and even tastes even better the next day, that is if you have any left over! --- I developed this years ago to create the most perfect extreme chocolate brownie that will be certain to satisfy anyones chocolate craving! --- I have even made these using half brown sugar and half white sugar, the amount of sugar listed will give you a sweet brownie you may reduce the sugar by 1/4 cup or more if desired or if you have a sweet tooth use amount stated --- add in a couple of tablespoons of coffee-flavored liqueur in place of the vanilla if desired — according to a reviewer oil may be used in place of the butter successfully --- these brownies freeze very well, that is if they even make it to the freezer! they are so simple to make just mix everything by hand, they bake out so rich and sinful! --- see Kittencal's Chocolate Buttercream Frosting/Icing

Thanks for the very moist brownie recipe. Made with 1c white sugar & 1/2c brown. Used 1c dark chocolate & 1c milk added when melting. Did make a mistake and added white & milk chocolate buttons instead of chips before baking, which sank to the bottom and kind of burnt or formed a very hard base. Was still a delicious brownie. Thanks you for another great recipe.

Moist, spongey and delicious! I used oil and went half and half white/brown sugar. I added walnuts and caramel bits. Great flavor so no complaints there. It had a nice cakey texture, but I personally prefer something on the more chewy end of the scale. Definitely worth sharing with others though! Thanks!

EXTREME was definitely the right name for this brownie! Pure decadent chocolate fudgey flavor through and through : ) If you don't have an occassion to made this recipe, invent one, QUICK! This is an easy recipe with superior results! I did notice adding the flour, salt and baking soda was missing from the steps; I added them after mixing in the chocolate in step #5, only until blended. Don't forget to add in the second batch of 2 cups of chocolate chips!! I also added in about 1 ˝ cups of well chopped walnuts. Kittencal, you out did yourself on this recipe : ) Thank you, thank you, thank you : )

Extreme indeed! I’ve tried a lot of brownie recipes over the years and my step-kids and DH always end up telling me the boxed brownies are better. I had given up hope and normally keep a box of brownies in the pantry. My DH was craving brownies and I didn’t have a brownie mix on hand, so I started searching for a new recipe to try. I came across your recipe in my cookbook and had all the ingredients on hand so I gave them a try. They were sweet, rich and moist – in my opinion – a perfect brownie! Mine turned out a little gooey in the middle, but that is my fault, as I think I should have baked them another 5 minutes or so. I halved the recipe and used Ghiradelli chocolate chips. My step son actually told me they were BETTER than the boxed brownies – and I have to agree! Thanks Kittencal for posting this wonderful brownie recipe!
