I got this recipe on the side of the box my bottle of Tequila Rose came in. It came with a really nice coffee mug. That's what made me buy it. Tequila Rose is a Strawberry Cream Liqueur with tequila in it. It is pink and creamy and quite tasty. You cannot taste the tequila in it. This is a hot chocolate drink that has a nice light strawberry taste to it. Cooking time is for boiling the water or heating the milk and is approximate. Recipe edited after a review.

SERVES 1 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Empty the packet of hot cocoa mix into a large coffee mug or coffee cup.
  2. 2
Pour the boiling water or hot milk into the mug/cup and stir to mix.
  3. 3
Pour the Tequila Rose into the hot chocolate and stir again.
  4. 4
Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings (optional.).
  5. 5
Now sit back, relax and enjoy your hot drink.

Chocolate and strawberry are one of my favorite combinations. I really enjoyed this treat! I did use water to mix the hot chocolate with but the liquor and whipped cream gave it quite a bit of creaminess. I used Baja Rose strawberry/tequila liquor. Thanks!

This was absolutely heavenly! It's really cold here and this was just the thing I needed. I added a bit of cream to the water as I tend to prefer a creamier hot chocolate and it was perfect.

It is cold and windy here- everyone is in bed so I thought I would mix this up. It was good but a bit strong for me. I followed the recipe as written other then I used milk instead of water because I don't like hot chocolate with water. I added another half of cup of milk, for a total of two cups and then I thought this was perfect. I didn't top with anything but I bet it would be wonderful with whipped cream (I just didn't have any)
