I think the lemon juice makes all the difference in the steamed broccoli!

SERVES 4 (change servings and units)

    Trim the broccoli into large florets.
  2. 2
    Place the broccoli in a steaming basket over boiling water; cover and steam for 3 minutes.
  3. 3
    Remove the lid for a moment, then cook, partially covered, until the stems are tender-firm, another 8-10 minutes.
  4. 4
    Remove to a platter; season with salt and pepper, the butter, and the lemon juice.

Great recipe. Used extra virgin olive oil instead off butter it came out great.Very easy to make. Served it with french fries and pork chopes. Family loved it.Thanks alot.

    I really don't care for broccoli, but this recipe makes it great. I used spray butter and bottled juice.

    Delicious and simple. I used butter spray and lemon juice from the bottle, but I think this dish is wonderful. I also toasted almonds and sesame seeds and added them after tasting the recipe with the original ingredients listed. I bought a lot of broccoli on sale at the grocery store and wanted to be sure not to waste any of it. Thank you for this lovely, simple, & nutritious recipe.

    Hey Jude, this is one of our favorite ways to have broccoli. I usually add some Mrs. Dash for flavor, zest from the lemon, and cook in those wonderful microwave steam bags. Thanks for posting.
