Dirty Shrimp in Butter-Beer Sauce

Recipe #79606 | 25 min | 15 min prep | add private note

By: EdsGirlAngie
Dec 24, 2003

Herby, spicy shrimp with a kick, in a buttery-beer "sauce". Fast, easy and delicious, serve as an appetizer, or a dinner over rice or with lots of crusty French bread to soak up all the tasty, herbalicious sauce!

SERVES 4 -6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Saute garlic and herbs in butter until garlic is slightly browned.
  2. 2
Add shrimp, stirring constantly, until shrimp are pink and done.
  3. 3
Pour in beer, simmer 1 minute more, and serve!

Made this last night and the ratings are right, it was fantastic. My only regret was no doubling the sauce. You can bet I will next time as this is a repeater!

It was fast, easy and delicious! Got rave reviews from my boyfriend. We used cooked and peeled shrimp from the freezer and just let them heat up in the beer. Great flavor in under 15 minutes. We're going to try it next time with white wine instead of the beer.

My husband and I love spicy things and thought this was just right. I doubled the sauce as suggested by others but substituted 1/2 c. pinot grigio and 1/2 c. chicken broth for the beer. I also dusted the shrimp with flour to help thicken the sauce. The sauce was so good we ate an ungodly amount of french bread that night!

Made this just as instructed except used frozen clean devained shrimp as it was what I had on hand. My family loves it! The recipe is fast and very easy. Should have doubled the sauce and rice as everyone raved...two familiy memebers went home and made it the next day.
