This is easy and always a big hit at my get togethers, it's great with mini meatballs or Lil Smokies! To make it ever more easier purchase ready made frozen cooked small meatballs for this, or you can make your own and cook them first, I use Kittencal's Italian Melt-In-Your-Mouth Meatballs see bottom of recipe for baking times.

50 meatballs (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
In a pot combine the grape jelly with the chili sauce; add in the meatballs and simmer for about 45 minutes uncovered or until the sauce has thickened.
  2. 2
If you are making my Parmesan meatball recipe use 2-1/2 to 3 pounds lean ground beef or use half beef and ground pork shape.
  3. 3
    Shape into about 1-inch balls.
  4. 4
    Place on a baking sheet.
  5. 5
Bake in a 350 degree F oven for 20-25 minutes or until cooked through.
  6. 6
    Place in the prepared sauce.

I can't believe I'd never made these until tonight! Very, very good & so easy! I used Trader Joe's frozen meatballs (little over 1lb package) so I just cut the sauce portion in half & it was perfect - enough yummy sweet/tangy sauce for some noodles! Even got a thumbs up from my choosey 4 year old. Thanks!

I made this for a holiday party and it was the first thing gone. That might have been because my kids ate about 1/2 of it before I even got to the party! I added some barbecue sauce too. It was very good!

This is something my sister made for the holidays when she lived out here... although the ingredients seem to be an odd combination, it is FANTASTIC!! Whenever I make this, I have to muster up the willpower to not eat the entire batch. Great stuff!
