Lemon-Garlic Chick Pea Dip with Veggies and Chips

Made this yesterday for my mother-in-law's birthday and it was a hit! I did make two changes though, instead of green onions, I used regular white onions and used one can of spicy bean dip to give it a little kick. Will definitely make this again!

This is the same recipe I've been making for many years. Every time I make it it gets devoured instantly. Absolutly the best. The only thing I do differently is to put the shredded cheese on right after the sour cream layer. Then I layer on the tomatoes, olives, and onions. I think it's prettier this way.

This is great dip! I brought it to a baby shower. I made refried beans from scratch for the bottom layer. For the avocado layer, I substitued 2 TBS lime juice instead for the lemon juice and added 2 TBS minced onion, 1 clove minced garlic, and 1/2 of a minced jalepeno along with the salt and pepper. The dip was devoured.
