Potato Soup

Every time I make this soup, someone wants the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 6 potato, diced
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • stalks celery, chopped
  • teaspoon salt
  • teaspoon celery salt
  • 2/3 teaspoon pepper
  • slices bacon
  • tablespoons flour
  • cups milk
  • Directions

    1. 1
      Cover potatoes, onion, celery, salt, and pepper with water and cook until tender.
    2. 2
      Fry bacon saving 6 T of dripping.
    3. 3
      Make white sauce with bacon drippings flour and milk.
    4. 4
      Add white sauce to soup, crumble bacon and add to soup.
    5. 5
      Heat thoroughly.

    Excellent, flavorful, quick and easy to make. I made the soup exactly as written with one addition. After step 5 I added dumplings to the soup like my dear nana always did. Thank for sharing and the memories.
