Fresh Picked Strawberry Ice Cream (Electric Ice Cream Machine)

Although this is a wonderful ice cream recipe (IMHO), it is an old one, and contains raw egg. Please feel free to use "Egg Beaters," egg substitute or pasteurized eggs in this recipe. You may leave out the egg altogether, but the texture may suffer. The "Cook time" is for the processing time of my (your) ice cream machine. The 1/2 to 1 hour "chill time" was not included in the Prep/Cook time.

1 Quart (approx) (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Puree all ingredients in a blender (if you want larger chunks of strawberries, only process 2/3 the amount in the blender, adding the remainder of sliced/diced strawberries to the mixture after blending).
  2. 2
Chill mixture for 1/2 to 1 hour until cold.
  3. 3
Process according to the freezing instructions for your ice cream machine.

What's better than strawberry ice cream? NOTHING! This was so delicious we ate it up in no time! I gave some to my little Yorkies and they licked the dish clean. I had waffle cones so we packed them full of this luscious ice cream and we munched out. Deeeeeeelicious!

Awesome! I added a banana and sweetened it with 1/4 c. maple syrup and 1/4 c. brown rice syrup (I use white sugar as little as possible) and I did use the egg. My husband loved it!

This is outstanding!! This was the first recipe I made using my new ice cream maker. This is the ONLY way I'll eat strawberry ice cream....freshly homemade! It had a wonderful creamy texture! (and I did use the egg) Easy easy easy!!
