This recipe name sounds kind of strange but it's great. Got this recipe from my sister and this is what she called it. Not sure where she got it at. If anyone knows it by another name, let me know. If you have heard it by this name let me know also. It's a great basic recipe for adding other ingredients, such as the various different tomatoe sauces that are out now. Sometimes I add mushrooms. My family requests this recipe often because it is hearty and fills you up. Serve with a salad and bread.

This is called "Shepherd's Pie" This is one of my families favorite dishes. we usually make it with herb instant potatoes and put sliced velveeta on top of it when it only has about 15 mins left to bake.

This sounds like "shepherd's pie", and it reminds me of my college days. Everyone groaned when it was on the menu, but I enjoyed it. I like how the green beans taste in it.

Very simple to make. My two year-old daughter and I just thought it was "ok", but, my husband really liked it a lot. I followed the recipe as written, then simmered another five minutes or so uncovered to let the sauce thicken up a bit. We served it with biscuits and added some jalapeno pepper jack cheese to our servings to give it a little more spice. As for the name... well, I'd never heard of it before, but, I won't forget what this dish was called!

I've made this myself quite often. My kids love it served just as the recipe states. I usually add 1/4 tsp. oregano and 1/4 tsp. sweet basil and 1/8 tsp. garlic powder also. And I usually simmer it covered a little longer to let the sauce thicken, as Amy MCGS said. Very easy and quick comfort food! Next time, I think I'll add some cheese lke AmyMCGS did, too! Thank you for posting this, Quiltn99!
