Recipe #65911 | 2 hours | 1¼ hours prep | add private note

By: Shawnee TX
Jul 1, 2003

A deliciously sweet pork tenderloin. Do NOT substitute pancake syrup — this needs real maple syrup. From "Crazy Plates".

SERVES 6 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Trim pork of all visible fat.
  2. 2
Whisk together all remaining ingredients; pour over pork and marinate in refrigerator for 1 hour.

Put pork and marinade it a small roasting pan or baking dish.
  4. 4
Roast uncovered for 40 minutes at 350 F.
  5. 5
Pork should still be slightly pink in the middle.
  6. 6
Let pork stand for 10 minutes (it will continue to cook).
  7. 7
    Cut into thin slices.
  8. 8
    Drizzle sauce over pork.

I have to agree with the earlier reviewers who found the maple flavour overwhelmed by the orange. The family enjoyed it though, so I'll probably try it again with less orange peel and see how it turns out.

Nice pork. Not that memorable, I must say, but nice enough. The maple syrup flavor seemed to disappear somewhere along the line.

Thanks, GaylaJ for posting your review. I really liked how all the flavors blended together. It has an orange tang that is very subtle. I made it with Mashed Roasted Sweet Potatoes with Parmesan #154311. Worked very well together. It's a keeper.

Made this last nite. Everyone loved it. I didn't have any oranges for the zest, but it was still fantastic!! I don't like maple syrup as a rule, but I'm so glad I tried this. Will be making this dish many times, I'm sure. Thanks so much!
