This is for a single portion. It can be doubled or tripled. Be careful with the sauerkraut though. You might not want to triple it. Depends on how much sauerkraut you want. I like lots of sauerkraut with my pork steak.

SERVES 1 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Remove excess fat from the pork steak.
  2. 2
    Preheat skillet.
  3. 3
Add oil and spread evenly in skillet.
  4. 4
Brown pork steak on both sides-- do not coat with flour.
  5. 5
Add the sauerkraut to the pork steak and spread evenly over the top of it.
  6. 6
Sprinkle the caraway seeds over sauerkraut.
  7. 7
Pour the beer over the pork steak and 'kraut.
  8. 8
    Bring to a boil.
  9. 9
Lower heat and simmer until pork steak is tender and done.(about 30 minutes).
  10. 10
The juice in the skillet might be a little cloudy in color but it is still good.
  11. 11
Put on a dinner plate and enjoy!

Love Sauerkraut & pork. I added 2 tbsp brown sugar sustitute and some left over potatoes for the last 15 minutes of cooking time. First 15 minutes covered, last 15 minutes uncovered. The default picture shows the dish as posted the second photo with the potatoe added. Thanks Auntie Woofie Woof, tasty recipe

I made this as posted. A simple recipe, no work involved. My only problem was we didn't like the flavor at all. To us it just didn't work. Maybe if I would of incorporated the additions of the 1st review we would of liked it.
