By: kcdelong
Jun 25, 2003

With all these mexican dishes I have posted, I figured I needed to add some drinks along with them, so here is the first of many.

SERVES 2 (change servings and units)

Ingredients

Directions

  1. 1
Rub the rims of 2 martini glasses with a lime wedge, then dip the rims in a dish of course salt.
  2. 2
    Refrigerate the glasses if desired.
  3. 3
In a shaker, combine the lime juice, tequila, and orange liqueur.
  4. 4
Add ice and shake 10 to 15 seconds, then strain into the prepared glasses.

This is ABSOLUTELY the BEST margarita I have ever had. I have sampled from CT to Mexico and everywhere in between Truly an amazing recipe. I used Jose Cuervo Gold and did use the fresh lime juice which I think is key. Perfect margarita.

Excellent drink! If you are used to drinking them with store bought mixer though, beware! It is much stronger.

There`s nothing like a Margarita made with fresh lime juice! I used Grand Marnier for the orange liqueur.

Simple and excellent. I used a nice tequila, the one with the Elk on the lable. Freshly squeezed lime I think are one of the keys to making this a great Margarita!
